Getting Started
Your account is the same on Web, Desktop, and Mobile; only the sign-in flow differs by platform. On every platform, sign-in is protected with OAuth 2.0 and PKCE, and no password is used.
| Platform | Where sign-in is completed | Returning to the app |
|---|---|---|
| Web | In the browser | You are returned to the app once sign-in is complete. |
| Desktop | In your system browser | Through a moratus:// link; the first time, the browser asks for confirmation. |
| Mobile | In a secure browser session inside the app | Through a moratus:// link. |
Web
- On moratus.ai, click Sign in.
- Choose Continue with Google, or enter your email address and click the secure sign-in link sent to your inbox.
- Sign-in is completed in the browser and you are returned to the app.
You can also chat as a guest without an account; guest chats are not saved (see Guest mode).
Desktop
- Click Sign in in the app; sign-in opens in your system browser.
- Complete the sign-in in the browser.
- The browser returns to the app through a
moratus://link; the first time, confirm the “Open MORATUS?” prompt. - The session is verified with PKCE; existing MORATUS users pick up where they left off with the same account.
- Because the PKCE verifier exists only in the app window that started the flow, a fake
moratus://link opened from outside cannot open a session. - Sign-in, membership, credits, memory, projects, and preferences come from the shared server; chat history is stored on your computer (see Where your data lives).
Mobile
- In the app, start signing in with Google or an email link.
- Sign-in is completed in a secure browser session inside the app.
- The browser returns to the app through
moratus://and your session opens.
- The session is stored in the device's secure keystore (iOS Keychain).
- Chats, projects, preferences, and your credit balance are exactly the same as on Web.
- Guest (no account) chat is not available on Mobile.
- Sign in with Apple is coming soon.
Open sessions
You can see your open sessions with their device, location, and sign-in time under Settings > Account > Active Sessions, and close any of them.
