Creating a project

Projects bring your chats, files, and instructions together in one workspace. If you run several chats on the same topic, create a project: every chat in the project sees the same files, instructions, and project notes.

Creating a new project

1. 1In the sidebar, click the + button next to the Projects heading. You can also start from New project in the Choose project menu on the new chat screen.
2. 2Give your project a name in the window that opens.
3. 3Click Create project; the project is added to the Projects list in the sidebar.

Starting a chat in project mode

1. 1Choose Project with the Chat | Project switch at the top of the new chat screen; the screen asks “What do you want to work on?”
2. 2Choose the project from the Choose project menu above the composer; in long lists, use Search projects.
3. 3If needed, add files and connectors with Files and Connectors, then write your message.

In project mode, a message cannot be sent without choosing a project. Once a project is chosen, the chat starts with that project's instructions, files, and notes.

Moving an existing chat into a project

You can add a chat to a project with Move to project in the chat options. The moved chat shows up in the project's chat list.
